On December 17, 1944, on an operation to Ulm, the weather was filthy - took off using FIDO. Seven hours and twenty minutes later crew returned and landed by FIDO. On January 16, 1945 the longest op of this crew was to Brux in Czechoslovakia, nine hours and fifteen minutes.

Frank and crew were shot down at the end of their tour on evening of February 22/23, 1945. Target was Pforzheim  Germany, whole crew plus a second dickie - bailed out succesfully, victims of a JU 88 with upward firing guns.
All members of crew were picked up within eight or nine hours after bail-out. Sent to Dulag Luft for 4-5 days then to the Wetzlar holding unit for a short period. The POWs were then sent to a camp at Nurnburg, and marched from there to Camp #7 Moosberg, being subsequently liberated by the U.S. Army.
Frank was demobbed at Toronto on October 12, 1945.
Frank graduated from the U of T in business administration, and became involved in the General Insurance business.
Frank’s wife is deceased and he has two daughters and three grandchildren. 2000
