Francis and Andy-Summer- 1999

Andy was born in Siepc, Poland September 16, 1917. He was crazy about flying and he joined the Polish Airforce Academy in September , 1935 . 

He graduated as a pilot in 1938. Hitler invaded Poland very early on and the Polish pilots were told to go to Romania. The British needed trained fighters so they took 2000 Poles across France to England were they taught them how to speak English then on to a Polish Fighter Squadron 303, 11 Group Fighter Command.

He was shot down over Calais, France on May 3,1942. He was in Dulag Luft, Frankfurt, Stalag lll, Sagan, Centre Compound, Stalag Luft 1, Barth, Stalag 8B, Lamsdorf

Lamsdorf, Stalag Luft 6, Hydrekrug. Hospital in South Germany were he was diagnosed as having tuberculosis and he was repatriated to the United Kingdom via Sweden, September 16, 1944. He was demobilized in 1949 at Bernigam, England. He came to Canada in June 1957 and worked at Simpson’s Simpson-Sears then started his Own Business

He retired in 1982 and is still married to Frances Burch and on January 24, 2000 they will have been married 58 years. They have two children Peter G and Pamela E and have two grandchildren Emily F. and Merrick J. Anderson. Andy says that he is proud and happy to be a Canadian
