In July 1969, transferred to become Director of Equipment Requirements(Air) at Canadian Forces Headquarters, Ottawa.
In 1971 promoted to Brigadier-General and posted as Commander to 10 Tactical Air Group Headquarters in Montreal until September 1974.
In September 1974 transferred to McCord Air Force Base, near Tacoma, Washington as Deputy Commander, 25th North American Air Defence Command (NORAD) Region.

Promoted to Major-General on October 1, 1976 and on October 15th assumed command of the 22nd NORAD Region and Air Defence Group at North Bay, Ontario.

POST SERVICE CAREER
Involve in a variety of activities (for compensation) 1978 to 1993.
Financial and administrative responsibilities at St.Andrew’s College, Aurora,(1978/1979).

DND Task Force on Review of Unification of the Canadian Forces( Oct 1979 to April 1980).

Many projects for the Canadian Air Lines Pilot’s Association, including involvement in the Royal Commission of Inquiry on Aviation Safety and the Aeronautics Act Task Force (1980 to 1986)

Member of the Transport Canada Ministerial Task Force on Aviation Matters ( May 1989 to April 1993).

Stopped working for renumeration in May 1993.
Married Barbara Joyce Casey at RCAF Station, Trenton on 25 November 1949.
