Liberated by the 11th Armoured Division, British 2nd Army, near Lubeck on May 3, 1945.

--- 2130 Warning given to evacuate the camp. 6” snow on the ground-severe snow storms-extremely cold.
Jan 28--- 0245 Issued two parcels per man and started to march.
Jan 28--- 0800 Halbau, first stop - distance 17 kilometers
Jan 28--- 1300 Lunch at Freiwaldau (frozen meat) - 11 kilometers
Jan 28--- 1930 Leippa, bed in a barn - 5 km’s - 20 degrees below zero.
Jan 29--- 0800 Breakfast - cheese and biscuits
Jan 29--- 0830 Back on the road - same weather conditions.
Jan 29--- 1300 Priebus (lunch)
Jan 29--- 1800 Muskau - 30km’s - billeted at glass factory.
Jan 30---        Rest - Bread issue 1/3 loaf, margarine 1/9 lb.
Jan 30---        Rest - 2/5 Red Cross parcel per man.
Feb 01--- 2100 Started our journey on the road once again - snow all gone.
Feb 02--- 0600 Graunstein - Barn 7kms.
Feb 02--- 1100 Started on on the road, destination Spremberg - 7km’s.
Feb 02--- 1400 Arrived at Spremberg
Feb 02--- 1500 Soup issued at Army Barracks
Feb 02--- 1630 Railway Siding - 3 kms away - 300 mile journey.
Feb 02--- 1700 Entrained in boxcars - 40 men per car.
                     Issued 2/3 loaf, a bit of sausage and margarine
                     2/3 Red Cross parcel per man.
Feb 03           Still on train (no water)
Feb 04--- O730 Hannover stopped and given water.
Feb 04--- 1700 Detrained and milled around in the rain (2 days and 2 nights)
Feb 04--- 1830 Marched to Tarmstedt, still raining - 3 kms.
Feb 05--- 0100 After waiting in the rain, wind and mud for seven hours, entered camp Milag und Marlag.

Understood many prisoners suffered from: Gastritis, dysentery, cold and influenza.
